Also, would want to add that, until there is an accountability from the client's end on how much sales have been generated through f-com, everyone will continue to bask on the glory of f-com.

Re: On the first death of Facebook Commerce…

Cant agree more. Unreal predictions and expectations are killing Facebook- commerce. Wait, did Facebook also goof-up with FB Credits roll-out?

On the other side, its refreshing to see some brands doing well by focusing on the social element of F-commerce, instead of trying to exploit FB's numbers. Example: Levi’s has an elegant Facebook-powered social shopping feature called Friends Store (http://store.levi.com/)
that uses Facebook’s social plugins – notably the ‘Like’ button.
If you haven't seen it already, check the case study video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

You could guest blog more and in those guest posts you could write for people. Keep the content here, about you, the way it is as of now.
If you want more debate happening here then it's a different case altogether. In my limited blogging experience at gamebashing, I realised people don't really like to comment unless they disagree wholeheartedly with at least one point.
With some of your posts I end up agreeing to you say and then I', left with nothing to say other than 'amen'.

Re: Personal Brand

thanks Surekha. I too prefer not to change things around here. :)
and agree on the content marketing, but since I seem to be unable to do much about it in the regular way, I will have to think of another approach.

Re: Personal Brand

reasons why i love your blog: it's still 'virgin', not 'cheaply commercialised' and you are among the top thought leaders i know in the space and most posts give something to mull over. finally, it is a labour of love, something you do for the sheer joy it brings you. dont change any of those things, there arent many like you out there.

re. what i would like to see change..anything that helps get you the recognition you deserve..you still remain a bit of an unsung hero and it's your approach and attitude towards content marketing for want of a better phrase, that you ought to reconsider. we have already had several discussions on this.

Re: Brands and Plus points

I could be very late to join in but I noticed today that when you share something with me (in a limited group), I get a notification. Whereas when we share with the public, it is merely a part of the noisy feed!

But as I told you on the status update as well, I think people share what excites them. So, I really don't think about who would appreciate it.

On the other hand, if I share certain things with my circles (I have 67 people in my circles but I am in 150 people's circles), people who have chosen to follow me to read what I have to say will miss it, no? Also, the 67 people who are in my circles, if they haven't added me back, they might get notifications that they did not subscribe to?

Layers of issues here?

Re: Influence, Decision Making & Data

thanks Gautam.
Quite frankly, we did not expect this kind of wide coverage from the media after we did this. It makes us glad that this story has got world wide coverage and even Kunal has got queries from companies the world all over on how to go about this. If we can help them, great!

Strategy is too big a word for me. What I can say is that the intentions of the team here are good and we would like to do lot more things in future. Not just as an organization but also involve our customers in changing the lives of people around us.

I personally do not believe in throwing money on charity and feel good about it. I believe that active participation is what makes me feel that I have contributed something. Even for this project, couple of people from our team were in the village for 22 days. Getting the boring done, installing the handpumps, getting all the requisite permissions from the authorities concerned and enjoying the village life in perfect North Indian summers with no basic facilities available. :) But all worth it when you see the smiles on the faces of villagers.

We are still a very young company and as we mature and take shape, you will see lot more initiatives from us.

Re: Evolution of Enterprise 2.0

Gautam Ghosh Nailed it, and though I still maintain that a comparison is not really the right approach, in the long run, I do feel it's the philosophical journey that will matter. But maybe 'walk before you run'?

Re: Evolution of Enterprise 2.0

Actually the roots of the movement started in the 90s, with "Knowledge Management" - first with a view to "capture" the information/knowledge held in people's heads. And when that "extractive" nature of KM didn't succeed, was replaced with the empowerment of employees - getting them connected via yellow pages/bulletin boards/communities of practice and capturing the discussion.

So from document management we moved to conversations.

Stowe has a take on social business that Andrew doesn't - he looks at it from an empowering perspective and moving from business as usual to the next level of business - socially connected to the larger ecosystem and empowered employees (Josh Bernoff's Empowered, and Charlene Li's Open Leadership - talk about the same thing)

Andrew's narrative is the Tech as a connector of employees, which is valuable - but doesn't really touch the philosophical journey the social business must make.

Re: Social Collaboration eg.

i can see that collaboration vs social collaboration has not ended :D Will have to think more on the value add that 'social' brings to collaboration :)

Re: Social Collaboration eg.

that link helps. i have often wondered (and written about) the number's significance when brands/organisations engage on social networks.
